What’s happening in April at Artscape

This April Artscape hosts an array of productions to scintillate the soul. . Dance of the La Gumas tells the remarkable story of the heritage of the prolific author Alex la Guma that was almost buried by the bannings and exile of the apartheid state. More drama unfolds as the Abrahamse & Meyer’s internationally acclaimed Hamlet returns. This innovative production of Shakespeare’s greatest play has been praised by local and international press as “world-class Shakespeare” a “tour de force” and “a masterpiece”.

April equally heralds the month in which we celebrate the attainment of our Freedom. At Artscape we continue to celebrate the liberties afforded to the artistic world as guaranteed in our constitution not only through a host of productions but equally through our ethos as the theatre of choice as a home for all. Thus we are proud to also be the venue of choice for this year’s Suidoosterfees that promises to be a fun-filled event for lovers of the performing arts.

Nataniel’s Moscow, Donizetti’s Don Paqualle, Bollywood rhythms, soapie stars, comedy, circus acts and more promise to entertain across more than five stages

Equally this month our cultural exchange projects continue. Do read up on Erasmus + project supported by the European Union as participants head to Zambia to strengthen inclusion and diversity that lead young people to live new educational and fulfilling experiences using the Arts as a conduit.

Enjoy the array of productions and see you at Artscape!
