THE LUNCH HOUR CONCERT IS BACK!! 04 OCTOBER

Be enthralled by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual lunch-hour concert at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 4 that takes place  in the Artscape Chandelier Foyer. The concert, says CEO Louis Heyneman, is a free and fun showcase of what make this an orchestra for all.

With rousing works like the overture from Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila a Hungarian Dance by Brahms and works by Verdi and Elgar to Lord of the Dance, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and District Six, the concert will also feature young violinists Jason Oppelt and Corban Beukes. Beukes will play the 1st mvt from the Violin Concerto in A minor by Bach, while Oppelt will partner concertmaster Philip Martens in the Tango from Scent of a Woman, both accompanied by the CPO. Brandon Phillips will be on the podium.

Heyneman advises people to come early, because this 45 min concert is also packed with standing room only.
