KIPPER AND THE TOY BOX
(5 – 15 AUGUST 2025)
PRODUCER: KRAZY KATZ PRODUCTION HOUSE in conjunction with ARTSCAPE and OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS
Kipper is back on stage. This time bigger and better than the past 24 years. For the first time ever Kipper will be visiting the Opera House. This production has already received two Fleur du Cap awards, and has now again been nominated for this coveted award.
The production is known for its audience participation. Learners have the opportunity to sing, dance and lend a helping hand to ensure that the adventure is successfully concluded. It remains the highlight on the calendar of every foundation phase learner.
Kipper and the Toy Box, like always, promises to be a colourful adventure. Kipper, Biff and Wilma are going on an adventure which leads them to a castle which is owned by a rat. And not just any rat, no, this is a selfish rat princess and her name is Rottina. They also come across Jack who regularly jumps out of his box, and the tin soldier, Sergeant Sollie. Although they experience some problems, no problem is big enough for Kipper and his friends. Hatchachachacha!
Heather Saunders, a panel member of Fleur du Cap shared the following on Instagram:
I’ve always wondered what it must feel like at a Taylor Swift concert. Well, no more…The audience at Artscape went wild for Kipper and his friends as they toured Paris & Ancient Rome in search of the Olympic flame. The immense joy in the theatre today was sufficient to heal any ache. What an experience!!!!! There’s a special place in heaven for people who make theatre for children.
Than you, thank you, and thank you once again.
