IMPORTANT NOTICE: Given the continuing government restrictions and in the interest of supporting the safety of the community it is necessary to postpone the upcoming season. However, the good news is that The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake performances will go ahead in July 2022.


The majesty of traditional Russian ballet comes to South Africa in 2022 when the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre presents Tchaikovsky’s magnificent classical ballet, Swan Lake at the Artscape Opera House, Cape Town, from Thursday 7 July 2022.

Following sold out seasons in London, Paris and Sydney, St Petersburg Ballet Theatre brings its grand, full-length production of the immortal Swan Lake to South Africa’s most prestigious theatres. The unmissable and stirring ballet will be accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre continues to champion the classical masterpieces with its graceful Vaganova trained company of dancers and breathtaking scenery and costumes.

PG: No under 5’s at evening performances, Mondays to Saturdays. Under 5’s are permitted to attend matinees, and Sunday evening performances at 18h00.

Wheelchair Access

Limited facilities for wheelchairs areavailable in the Opera House and Theatre in accordance with safety regulations. Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.
