Local performers well versed in colloquial comedy will be giving their hilarious takes on social, political, economic and general life issues in indigenous languages for audiences keen to be cracked up in their mother tongue. Shows are performed in indigenous languages such as IsiXhosa IsiZulu, siSwati and Sesotho.

The iKAPA COMEDY FESTIVAL is for everyone who loves comedy, whether a prospective comedian or someone who loves laughing and jokes. We expect a broad and diverse demographic: young and old, singles and families, people of all cultures – a great cross-section of our community. The iKAPA COMEDY FESTIVAL will provide an opportunity to share and showcase our organization’s brand among diverse audiences at a free, fresh, family-friendly entertainment event.

The Event is on 27th August at Artscape! We are re- launching the Comedy show known as BLACK COMEDY OFFICIAL and re-branding it as iKAPA COMEDY FESTIVAL.

Wheelchair Access

Limited facilities for wheelchairs areavailable in the Opera House and Theatre in accordance with safety regulations. Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.
