A starry line-up of South African singers will gather in Cape Town in mid-winter, to appear in a one-night-only Gala of opera excerpts by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Massenet and others.
On stage are South African singers who have achieved remarkable success abroad: Bongiwe Nakani and Lukhanyo Moyake return from extended stints at the Wiener Staatsoper and Thesele Kemane from Oper Frankfurt.
Nombulelo Yende, Nonhlanhla Yende, Siphamandla Moyake, Makudupanyane Senaoana, William Berger, Amos Nomnabo, Xolela Sixaba and Bongani Khubeka make a welcome return, supported by Cape Town Opera’s Brittany Smith, Ané Pretorius, Danielle Speckman, Siphesihle Mdena and Nkululeko Mqobongo. The Cape Town Opera Chorus will sing under the direction of Marvin Kernelle and Kamal Khan will conduct the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.Wheelchairs
