ARTSCAPE SUSPENDS ACTIVITIES

Dear Patrons

Amidst these trying times Artscape would like to ensure you that we have your well-being and safety as a priority as we are still facing the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic. We can all testify to being affected by it in one way or the other be it directly or persons known to us.

Thus, in line with lockdown adjusted level four restrictions announced by President Ramaphosa,  gatherings, including arts and cultural are prohibited and theatres are closed.  As a cultural institution Artscape is thus compelled to halt current productions, rehearsals and recordings as scheduled for the next two weeks. Further announcements will be guided by official lockdown level decrees.

Those who have purchased tickets for productions can call Artscape dial-a-seat on 021 421 7695 for a refund or may consider it as a possible donation to the artists – one of several professions that have been one of the hardest hit during these months of protracted lockdown.

Theatre lovers can be assured that scheduled productions will return at the correct time and when absolutely safe to do so.

Meanwhile for your viewing pleasure we invite you to revisit our YouTube page and delight in the Artscape building 50-year concert celebration, the virtual exhibition featuring memorable moments throughout the Golden Jubilee or reminisce in the enigmatic concerts online from ballet to opera to indigenous music. Most of all we trust that you remain safe and protected.
