Artscape.co.za brings the house down

ARTSCAPE has launched a new, user-friendly website linking one of the country’s most productive theatre centres to social networks.

“Since going live at the beginning of the September, Artscape patrons can execute searches according to their favourite arts genre or venue for up-to-the-minute information on the Artscape cultural scene," says Artscape CEO Michael Maas.

The comprehensive super search function allows theatre patrons to browse and then book for some of the biggest stage spectacles in the Mother City with ease.

“The website catapults Artscape into the 21st century, with links to social networks such as Facebook and YouTube. This is where it’s all happening for the younger generation and the site makes it possible for us to connect with a new audience.

“These new features aim to promote the performing arts and also provide a forum for people to post comments on what’s happening at Artscape.

“Now that we are up to speed with the latest technology and online trends, a live interaction between Artscape, our performances and our patrons is possible," he says.

Artscape is gearing up for a sizzling summer entertainment season. “The refurbishment of the Opera House will be completed by the end of September, well in time for one of the centre’s busiest seasons.

“Our website provides a preview of the coming season’s attractions in the singing and dancing arena and will continue to provide essential details of the theatre’s exciting programme," Maas says.
