Artscape performances nominated for Fleur du Cap Awards



Eleven artists who performed at Artscape or designed for Artscape productions have been nominated for the 45th annual Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards, which are to be announced on Human Right’s Day, 21 March, at a gala ceremony at the Baxter Theatre.

Amongst these, two nominations went to Artscape staff members – Faheem Bardien and Alfred Rietman.

The awards ceremony rotates annually between the Artscape Theatre Centre and the Baxter Theatre.

The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards recognises theatre excellence in 14 different categories, as well as four special awards.

The various nominees are:
*Sandra Prinsloo for best performance by an actress in Die Naaimasjien
*Guy de Lance for best supporting actor in As You Like It
*Claire Watling for best supporting actress in As You Like
*Hennie van Greunen as best director for Die Naaimasjien
*Sandra Prinsloo for best performance in a one person show in Die Naaimasjien
*Rachelle Greef for best new SA script for Die Naaimasjien
*Anton Luitingh for best performance in a musical in Beauty and the Beast
*Jonathan Roxmouth for best performance in a musical in Beauty and the Beast
*Dicky Longhurst for his costume design in As You Like It
*Faheem Bardien for his lighting design of As You Like It
*Alfred Rietman for his set design of The Tent
