The Fugard Theatre`s smash hit musical WEST SIDE STORY returns to the Artscape Opera House following sold out seasons in Cape Town, and most recently at the Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg!
Perhaps the best Musical ever written – WEST SIDE STORY – exploded on to the Cape Town stage in Winter of 2015, and due to overwhelming popular demand will make its way back to the Opera House stage!
This Eric Abraham and Fugard Theatre production is brought to you by the award-winning creative team who brought you the run away Fugard Theatre smash hits THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, CABARET and most recently FUNNY GIRL.
This glorious multiple award-winning Musical – based on a Conception of Jerome Robbins with Book by Arthur Laurents, Music by Leonard Bernstein and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim – will open in the Artscape Opera House in March 2018 and will feature a full, live Orchestra!

The underground municipal car park linked to Artscape is open for public parking from 17:00 on weekdays and an hour before the starting time of shows on weekends. It closes at 24:00. The parking fee is R21 and R13 for pensioners.Wheelchair Access
Limited facilities for wheelchairs areavailable in the Opera House and Theatre in accordance with safety regulations. Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.
