This funny, moving and completely authentic slice-of-life tells the story of how one bullet irrevocably changes the course of five characters who live on the Cape Flats.  Lee-Ann van leads a cast of incredible young talents (Dustin Beck, Dean John Smith, Lyndsey Abrahams and Shannon Williams) in showing us the almost impossible odds against which young people (the kinnes of the title) have to struggle to make something of themselves in an area where violence, drugs and easy money are the holy trinity.   This award-winning script is written in perfect Cape vernacular and youngsters who dream of becoming doctors, actors and poets quickly realise that the Cape Flats has a way of crushing those dreams in the cruellest of ways.
