Bringing Jazz back to the theatre and honouring some of the finest jazz musicians in the Western Cape, Artscape Theatre Centre has meticulously chosen a combination of bands and musicians for the 2018 Jazz Masters Series. All have received international acclaim and represent multicultural styles of Jazz, ranging from Big Band, Straight-Ahead, African, and South African Contemporary to Mainstream Jazz. Each headline artist is a Master in his or her own right, winning over audiences around the world. Every night will have a themed undertone and cover original music by each performer as well as works of well-known South African composers.
Thursday, 27th September will be dedicated to Masterful Women in Jazz with Lana Crowster (Vocalist) and her Lady Day Big Band, featuring Amanda Tiffin as Music Director/Conductor. 28th September gives a platform to the Young Masters of Jazz and includes Mandisi Dyantyis. Alvin Dyers will be amongst the Cape Town Living Legends on 29th September.
Performances are at 19.30. Tickets cost R100 a performance. 10% discount is available for block bookings of 10 or more as well as for Pensioners, Students and Scholars 5-18 years

The underground municipal car park linked to Artscape is open for public parking from 17:00 on weekdays and an hour before the starting time of shows on weekends. It closes at 24:00. The parking fee is R21 and R13 for pensioners.Wheelchair Access
Limited facilities for wheelchairs areavailable in the Opera House and Theatre in accordance with safety regulations. Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.Wheelchairs
