The Cape Town City Ballet in collaboration with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CTPO) under the baton of Brandon Phillips are proud to be BACK ON STAGE at Artscape!
Presenting two works, George Balanchine’s exquisite Serenade, & Moon Behind the Clouds, a suite of works made during the time of Covid-19, by seven South African choreographers, including Veronica Paeper. Laced together through the timeless text of Max Ehrmann’s Desiderata this emotive & inspirational suite will be narrated by Marcel Meyer. The CTPO accompanies the CTCB in the renowned works of Tchaikovsky, Massenet, Barber, Satie, Delibes & Mahler.
A celebration of the power of live performance dedicated to the memory of David Bloomberg, tireless philanthropist and support of the arts!
Please Note: For your safety, the event will be COVID-19 regulations compliant. Thus all patrons should wear the mandatory masks without which they will not be allowed access to the building. Additionally, temperature checks will be part of the entrance procedure, social distancing would need to be observed and hand sanitising would be provided. Front of House (ushers) staff will assist, advise and inform patrons of all the necessary COVID-19 safety protocols including the management of flow throughout the venue, including the management of the queue upon entry to the auditorium where double seats would also be spaced to adhere to social distancing protocols. We trust that you will have a pleasurable experience throughout the show.
The underground municipal car park linked to Artscape is open for public parking from 17:00 on weekdays and an hour before the starting time of shows on weekends. It closes at 24:00. The parking fee is R24.00 and R15.00 for pensioners.Wheelchair Access
Limited facilities for wheelchairs areavailable in the Opera House and Theatre in accordance with safety regulations. Wheelchair seats can be booked at the Artscape Box Office, at any Computicket outlet, or through the Computicket call centre. Please note that the Arena is not wheelchair friendly. Toilets for wheelchair-bound patrons aresituated in the Marble and Chandelier Foyers of the Opera House and on the lower level of the Theatre Foyer. Limited parking bays are available for bona fide Disabled Parking Disc Holders in the tunnel area opposite the Stage Door entrance, and in the staff parking area. A drop-off facility is available in the tunnel area for patrons who have difficulty walking. Prior arrangements in all regards should be made with the Theatre Manager.Wheelchairs
