PRODUCTION: Dance Can Dance The Spirit of Enchantment Concert

Elvis Sibeko Studios, the innovative South African entertainment multimedia enterprise is excited to announce
the first chapter of Dance Can Dance The Spirit of Enchantment Concert from 14th -15th May 2021 at Artscape
Opera House. This exciting production is proudly brought to you by Elvis Sibeko Studios in association with
Artscape and Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
The production is inspired by Elvis Sibeko’s album Dance Can Dance The Spirit of Enchantment released in
2020 during lockdown to inspire artists continue cultivating their craft, ignite their spirits and help them cope
throughout the National Shutdown. The production is aimed at reviving the spirit of Arts through the infusion
of indigenous dance and music experience by introducing the greatest world of indigenous stories told
through cinematic orchestra music together with the Afro Fusion dance style.
Meet the founder of Elvis Sibeko Studios, Elvis Sibeko the world-renowned theatre-maker, Award winning
Dancer, Choreographer, Director and a Composer. He is also a Choreographer and the Director of Dance
Can Dance The Spirit of Enchantment. One of his latest works includes The Kingdom Of Ubuntu The Musical
that was filmed at Artscape during 2020 to celebrate South Africa’s Heritage month. This amazing
collaboration experience is choreographed by the talented and reputational individuals like Mzo Gasa,
Sibonakaliso Ndaba, Janine Booysens, Maxwell Rani and Tercia Alexandra Amsterdam.
The stage will be graced by the indigenous songstress and the Multi-Award winning Babalwa Zimbini
Makwethu, internationally acclaimed South African Youth Choir, Mawonga Gayiya the South African
professional magician, greatest Indoni Dance, Arts & Leadership Academy and the most versatile and active
orchestra on the continent of Africa Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the prominent
Brandon Phillips.
Concert is part of the fundraising programme for all the partners and the company to generate income that
will sustain jobs throughout the era of COVID.
